The Gliders scored a 62-57 win against China to qualify for the fixth-sixth play-off against Great Britain.
Less than 24 hours after falling to Canada in the quarter-finals, the Gliders held off a late charge from China.
Gliders' star Amber Merritt hit a game-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting to go with seven rebounds.
Coming off an impressive performance in the quarter finals, Kylie Gauci recorded her first double-double of the tournament, posting 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Sarah Stewart had 16 points (8-of-12 FG).
Australia led 32-29 at half-time.
The third quarter was the Gliders best as they surged to a 50-40 lead at a quarter to go.
The Australian Gliders face Great Britain on Sunday at 12:00am AEST.
