The 3BO FM 93.5 host has agreed face his fear in a bid to raise money for Give Me 5 For Kids, which raises money each June for local hospitals across regional Australia.
Speaking to the Bendigo Advertiser on Sunday afternoon, Mr Coghlan said he would have some moral support from Rick Ladson from the Golden Square Football and Netball Club.
"He's in the same boat as me - he's just as scared as I am," Mr Coghlan said.
"He's got a lot of backing, obviously he's a premiership player at Hawthorn, so he's going to be pushing the cause as well."

EARLIER, Friday:
BRYAN 'Cogho' Coghlan has a simple strategy for when his fear of heights kicks in while suspended in a crane on Monday - don't look.
The 3BO FM 93.5 host has agreed to be hoisted up by a crane in Hargreaves Mall at midday on Monday to raise money for Give Me 5 For Kids, which raises money each June for local hospitals across regional Australia.
Last year, the radio station raised $124,000 for Bendigo Health.
Mr Coghlan said Monday's event hoped to raise about $10,000 and would help cross a few items off the hospital's wish list.
"We’re talking about mums, dads, kids who might donate $5 or $10. It’s not all about the big donations," he said.
For every $200 donated, Mr Coghlan will be lifted up an extra metre, with the idea that the more people donate the higher he will go.
Mr Coghlan thought he could get about halfway up before the fear kicked in.
"It’s just the fact that you’re out there and anything could happen," he said.
"I can go on rides, I just don’t look. The minute I look I’m in trouble."
As for whether it could cure his fear of heights, Mr Coghlan was less optimistic.
"I’ve tried to do this sort of thing before and it doesn’t end well."
Meanwhile, Strathfieldsaye and Eaglehawk will play for the Give Me Five For Kids Cup in their Bendigo Football League clash at Flight Centre Park on Saturday.
