UPDATE 7.55PM: Ambulance Victoria said a man in his 40s was taken to hospital in a stable condition, complaining of back and abdominal soreness.
UPDATE 7.35PM: A man in his 40s has been taken to Bendigo hospital with unknown injuries after hitting a traffic light on High Street, Kangaroo Flat.
Bendigo police Constable Ricki-Lee Turton said the male driver, the sole occupant of the ute, was travelling north along High Street when he veered left into a parked car about 6.55pm, hitting a traffic light pole on the left-hand side of the road.
Constable Turton said the man appeared to be having a fit of some sort.
"It is not known whether drugs or alcohol have played a part at this stage," she said.
Constable Turton said it was unknown what speed the car was travelling but inquiries were pending.
North-bound traffic was temporarily blocked while emergency services attended the scene.
The road has been re-opened.
EARLIER: A car has hit a pole on High Street in Kangaroo Flat.
A male driver was travelling towards Bendigo when the crash occurred.
Two ambulances and two police vehicles are on scene.
The road is cordoned off.
