The two-point win came in over time on Tuesday night, with Satrathfieldsaye's Anna Meade scoring the winning points.
It was a tight contest throughout the game.
Just five points separated the two teams at half-time.
Generals' Kelsey Sartori had an impressive game despite the loss, she shot a game-high 25 points, including a massive six three-pointers.
For Strathfieldsaye, three players scored scored double figures.
La Sondra Barrett scored 15 points, including one three-pointer, Jackie Handley had 13 points and Anna Meade had 10.
The win was Strathfieldsaye's first of the championship.
In the second BWCL round five game, the Tigers defetaed the Celtics by 11 points.
The Tigers led at every break, eventually winning 59 to 48.
The Celtics cut the margin to just six points in the third period but couldn't continue its momentum into the fourth.
Alex Bunton from the Tigers scored a game-high 17 points for the match.
Rebecca Dekazos finished the game with 13 points and Sarah Strange had 12 points for the Celtics.
The Beavers had the bye.
They are currently in equal first position with the Tigers.
No championship games will be played next week due to the school holidays.
