The Kangaroo Flat Sports Club has donated $60,000 worth of funds to several organisations across the town.
The Kangaroo Flat football, netball swimming, bowls cricket and junior football clubs all received a piece of the funding.
Officials from each of the clubs were on hand to receive the cheques at a function on Monday night.
Kangaroo Flat Sports Club general manager Ken Yates said the funding should assist the offset of operational costs for several of the clubs.
He said sporting clubs played an important role in the social fabric of the region.
‘’We are very fortunate to have a diverse range of sporting bodies associated with the Sports Club and a strong relationship and partnership has been developed among these sporting bodies," Yates said.
"The Kangaroo Flat Sports Club is a non-profit organisation.
"Profits are returned to the community as well as being channeled back for future development at the club to benefit both members and patrons using the facility.
"The money we generate from the past financial year is donated back into the community."
Over the past 20 years the Kangaroo Flat Sports Club has donated more than $1.2 million to the affiliated clubs within the Dower Park Sporting complex.
"It is quite a significant number," Yates said.
"We have definitely raised a lot of money over the years."
