The redevelopment by MGS Architects was a stand out among regional and metropolitan projects and received a commendation in the Public Architecture - Alterations and Additions category.
"The Bendigo Library redevelopment has carefully integrated the former library and research services into a new, flexible and inclusive place of community," the judging panel said.
"The internal use of materials and changing ceiling heights and voids adds to the diversity and definition of spaces to create a vibrant and engaging community facility."
