COURTNEY Keast will never have the chance to live in her new home. But her family has expressed its deep gratitude to the community, who has helped create a peaceful place to turn to.
There are so many people that just stepped in and took charge of the completion of our new house.
This house was to be the new start for the three of us, the three Keast girls.
Courtney never got to live in this house we chose together but I think that, just maybe, she is here with us anyway.
Lu Thomas and Alan Bell Builder, Katrina and James Pilbeam and Cameron Shield Plumbing co-ordinated a landscaping dream, so that Maddie and I had a peaceful and completed space to be in.
Businesses such as Reece Plumbing, Kyneton Garden Supplies, Kyneton Floorworld, Turner Bros, Kyneton Home Hardware, Prendergast’s and Midway Garden Supplies helped with donations, discounts and labour.
JG Kings also made this process so much easier and gave us some colourful feature walls that give our beautiful pictures of Courtney a lovely backdrop.
The amount of people that turned up to help build retaining walls and planter boxes, move dirt and rocks and plant the numerous plants was very humbling.
I was not there for any of this and when I did eventually return to the house, I was blown away with the thoughtful choices people had made.
The Kyneton Community has shown what a beautiful, caring place it is. We are blessed to live here.
The loss of Courtney will never be overcome, my grief will never leave but I want to acknowledge that friends and the community have been as supportive as they possibly can.
Thank you from the three of us.
Jodie, Courtney and Maddie Keast
