That lack of horse racing knowledge didn’t stop Pedrotti walking away from the Bendigo Jockey Club on Sunday with a cheque for $10,000.
Suzie won the BJC’s tipping competition – selecting the winners of the three hurdle races and the Winter Championship heat.
“My husband (Ryan) follows the races a bit and we sat down and did an entry form each,’’ Suzanne said.
“I didn’t have too much of an idea, I just wanted to make sure I had some different numbers to what Ryan did so that we had more chance.
“It’s a great surprise, I can’t believe it.”
Going into the Winter Championship heat there were five live entries.
Suzie had $5 shot Lord Durante running for the $10,000.
“I felt sick leading into the race… I couldn’t believe that I had a chance,’’ Suzie said.
“When he won I was speechless.”
