In an era where the legal system often draws criticism for sentences, Justice Stephen Kaye delivered justice with his decision of life with a non-parole period of 32 years.
Of most importance, those who lost the most through this horrific crime in Zayden Veal-Whitting's parents, have labelled the sentence a 'good outcome'.
It was clear from the response on the Bendigo Advertiser website after the sentence was handed down that the majority of the population agree - this sentence was appropriate for this crime.
These families and all associated with them will now have to set about rebuilding their lives.
They will never forget June 15, 2012.
Let's hope we never see a crime like this again in our great city.
