A MAN accused of holding up Nando's in Bendigo with a handgun earlier this year has pleaded guilty to armed robbery and theft.

Paul Mulry appeared briefly in the Bendigo Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, where he entered a plea of guilty to two charges.
Mulry is currently remanded in custody, pending a court appearance on June 30.
He made no application for bail.
The incident occurred on February 12 this year at just after 10pm.
Three staff members were inside cleaning, when a man wearing a white painter's jumpsuit and balaclava entered, holding a handgun.
He demanded to be taken to the safe and left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.
Police believe the accused then fled on foot out the back of the Nando's, turning into Forest Street, then right onto Mackenzie Street and on to Rosalind Park.

It is unknown whether the handgun was real or an imitation.
Acting Detective Sergeant Mark Crossley said the three employees were "fairly distressed and shaken".
