Pain was remanded in custody following the brief filing hearing and will again appear before court on October 15 for a committal mention.

UPDATE WEDNESDAY 6AM: A 52-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a man in Raywood last night.
Police were called to a property on the Bridgewater-Raywood Road at about 7pm to investigate the death of a 36-year-old Raywood man.
Maxwell John Pain, of Neilborough, was arrested at about 9pm and charged with one count of murder.
He faced an out-of-sessions court hearing last night and was remanded to appear at Bendigo Magistrate’s Court today.
UPDATE TUESDAY 9PM: Police are investigating the circumstances following the death of a man in Raywood, north of Bendigo, on Tuesday night.
Police were called to an alleged altercation at a property on Bridgewater-Raywood Road just after 7pm.
Victoria Police media confirmed the man died at the scene but could not reveal the cause of the man's death.
Homicide squad detectives are en route to the scene as the investigation continues.
