UPDATE 4.45PM: THE owners of the historic Junction Hotel say they will "survive as they always have", after losing everything in a fire the destroyed the historic pub.

UPDATE 9AM: The owners of the Junction Hotel at Ravenswood hung up the phone in shock after hearing the historic property had been destroyed by fire.
Friend Val Pilcher said owners Coby and Joe Jansen had lived at the property for several years.
They ran the hotel up until last year, before the property went on the market.
"We were driving past and saw the fire. I called Coby and when I told her what had happened, she just hung up immediately," Ms Pilcher said.
"I rang her back after half an hour - it's just so much for them to deal with."
UPDATE 7.20AM: A fire that last night gutted the historic Junction Hotel at Ravenswood has reignited this morning.
Six fire crews attended the blaze just after 6.30am today and brought the fire under control in just under an hour.
Fire services controller Glen Thompson said it was not uncommon for major structure fires to reignite.
"Once the wind gets up there, they can easily catch fire again," he said.
Fire investigators will today attend the scene to determine the cause of last night's blaze, which took several hours to control.
UPDATE MONDAY 11:00pm: Friend of the owners of the Junction Hotel, Val Pilcher, broke the news via phone that their property had gone up in flames on Monday night.
Owners Coby and Joe Jansen were in Moama when they got the call from their friend.
They will return to Bendigo on Tuesday.
Mrs Pilcher said she noticed Joe Jansen's car parked on the property.
Mr and Mrs Jansen are Dutch but have lived in Australia many years.
They stopped running the property as a pub in 2013 but have continued living in it.
Mrs Pilcher said they were planning to move to Taree in September this year.
She said she knew Mrs Jansen through a breast cancer support group that they had both been attending.
Firefighters are still working to control the blaze.
Bendigo Advertiser reporter Raelee Tuckerman was at the scene and counted ten fire brigade vehicles.
"It's a fairly spectacular blaze," she said.
Fire services from Metcalfe, Maldon, Lockwood, Walmer and Bendigo are attending the scene.
Police closed off one lane of the Calder Highway in the Bendigo-bound direction.
Paul Pike lives across the road from the Junction Hotel.
"My son looked out the window and saw the flames and we just rushed out," he said.
