BENDIGO footballer Grace Campbell was named among the best for Vic Country's under-21 side despite its loss on Saturday.
Campbell booted one goal in the 21-point loss to Vic Metro at Whitten Oval.
It was the first time AFL Victoria featured a women's under-21 game.
Vic Country led by two points at three quarter time but couldn't hold on to win the game.
The final score Vic Metro 9.13 (67) to Vic Country 6.10 (46).
Grace Campbell's sister Lily also donned the Big V in the match.
After 10 years, Vic Country scored a win in the open game against their metro counterparts.
Bendigo Thunder trio Alana McNabb, Sarah-Jane Baldwin and Amanda Carrod were a part of the 23-point win.
