A GROUP of parents of Kalianna Special School students have gathered 1000 signatures, petitioning to speed up a redevelopment of the school.

It was reported the school received $346,379 in funding in May last year as part of the state government's urgent works program but works are yet to start on the school.
Principal Peter Bush said the school was grateful for the support.
The group of parents sat out the front of Long Gully IGA yesterday where they received more than 600 signatures on the petition.
The prep-to-year-12 school launched a petition after writing to members of parliament to request funding for a redevelopment.
The parents will be outside Long Gully IGA from 9am to 3pm today.
