Fake $50 note found at business
MARYBOROUGH police are investigating after counterfeit money was used at a service station on Monday.

Leading Senior Constable Mark Bowker said staff from United Petroleum in Tuaggra Street contacted police after they received a fake $50 note.
He said police were making further inquiries.
"We occasionally get a few fake notes - every now and then," he said.
"But it is not real often."
It is an offence to knowingly possess counterfeit banks notes and businesses have the right to refuse to accept a bank note if they have concerns about it, says the Reserve Bank of Australia's counterfeit detection guide.
People should contact the police if they believe they have received counterfeit notes.
