NEWSTEAD kicked away from Royal Park in the final term to win Saturday's battle of what had been two undefeated teams by 47 points in the Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football League.

The game was up for grabs at three quarter-time as the Steaders led by just eight points.
But the Steaders put the foot down in the final term, adding 6.4 to 0.1 to prevail 16.13 (109) to 9.8 (62).
Ethan Ford kicked four goals for the Steaders to be one of their best, along with David Wall, Tom Ruggles and Adam Hunter.
Better players for Royal Park - which still hasn't beaten Newstead since 2005 - included Trent Pye (three goals), Taylor Stewart and Brendan Murdoch.
• Rovers won just their second match in their past 22 games, defeating Harcourt by 21 points, 16.11 (107) to 13.8 (86).
Rovers did the damage in the first quarter, kicking 7.3 to 0.0.
Harcourt outscored Rovers in each of the last three terms, but paid the price for its poor start.
Karson Guareschi and David Popovski kicked four goals each for Rovers, whose best were Bradley Fraser and Keegan Ross.
Dean Watson bagged six goals for the Lions. Lachlan Van Schaik was again Harcourt's standout.
• Natte-Bealiba improved to 4-2 and inflicted Trentham's third loss in a row with a 50-point victory, 16.14 (110) to 8.12 (60).
No Natte Bealiba details were supplied, while Luke Whitehouse (three goals) was the shining light for the Saints.
• Reigning premier Navarre continued its powerful form, thumping Avoca by 99 points, 19.14 (128) to 4.5 (29).
Ashley Driscoll and Kris Brennan kicked four goals each for the impressive Grasshoppers.
Josh Fowkes, coach Daniel Parkin (two goals) and Josh Driscoll starred for the ladder-leaders.
Jesse Britton, Joel Carter and Bryce Howell battled hard for the winless Bulldogs.
• Lexton notched its fifth win in a row, beating Talbot by 72 points, 17.10 (112) to 6.4 (40).
A seven-goal haul from full-forward Matt Brown ensured the Tigers wouldn't be upset by the Hawks for the second year in a row.
Nicholas Spolding, James Templeton and Joel Williams were other top performers for the Tigers.
Ben Heathcock, Tom Sutherland and Ross Wise were the best for the Hawks, who were competitive in the first term, but by half-time had fallen 38 points behind.
• Carisbrook returned to the winners' list, beating Maldon by 46 points, 14.14 (98) to 6.16 (52).
Liam Cunningham kicked four goals for the Redbacks, whose best were led by Clayton Furniss, coach Luke Treacy and Nick Wright.
Tom Cain kicked four of Maldon's six goals. Michael Mulholland and Nicholas McKnight were solid for the battling Bombers.
• Campbells Creek moved a win closer to trying to end its 15-year finals drought, defeating Dunolly 9.11 (65) to 6.16 (52).
The Creekers held sway after leading 4.3 to 0.1 at quarter-time in what was a low-scoring contest.
Adam Pollock bagged five goals for the Creekers, who also had Brandon Greenwood and Josh Hutchinson dominate.
Jesse Olsen kicked four of Dunolly's six goals. Michael Campbell and Mitchell Harper also played well in the defeat.
