The midfielder was named in the final team of 25 to take on the SANFL on Saturday afternoon.
Magin, winner of Bendigo Gold's best and fairest last year, will line-up with some of the best VFL players.
The 23-year-old will be joined by former Heathcote District footballer Lech Featherstone.
Featherstone has been among the Coburg Tigers best this season.
The initial squad of 40 was cut down to 32 after a training session earlier this week, before the final team was announced on Thursday.
The VFL team, coached by Damian Carroll, is aiming to return to the winners list this year after a 17-point loss to the WAFL in 2013.
The Victorians have a chance to grab top spot on the State League ladder by defeating SANFL.
Coach Carrol told the VFL website he believed the team had some great depth and good experience.
He said the Victorians were up for the challenge.
"The SANFL have been the measuring stick over the past few years and certainly deserve the No.1 ranking in Australia," Carrol said.
"But we believe we have a good mix of guys who are really enthusiastic about playing and representing Victoria."
The last time the two states met back in 2008, the SANFL team put on a strong performance defeating the VFL by 65-points.
The VFL captain and vice-captain will be announced after its Thursday night training session.
The State League game will be played at North Port Oval in Port Melbourne at 1.10pm on Saturday.
