Nine players were cut from the initial squad, with Bendigo Gold's Alik Magin holding his position in the team.
Former Heathcote District footballer Lech Featherstone, who now plays with Coburg Tigers, was also named in the squad.
The 32-player squad trained on Wednesday night.
The team will be reduced to 26 players prior to its second last training session on Thursday night.
The VFL state squad will take on the SANFL at North Port Oval in Port Melbourne on Saturday.
