The Thunder will meet Melbourne Uni at the QEO in round four of the Victorian Women’s Football League.
The game from 11.30am will be a curtain-raiser to the Bendigo v Gippsland inter-league match.
The Thunder have endured a difficult initiation into the premier league, failing to score in either of their first two games against reigning premier Darebin and VU St Albans, which were defeats by a combined 471 points.
And another tough game looks ahead against the unbeaten Melbourne Uni.
“The QEO is a big ground and for us, a lot of our girls have a bit of pace, so hopefully, they can get out into the wide open spaces and we can feed them a bit of the footy,” Jeffrey said on Friday.
“We’re expecting the squad we put out on Saturday will be our strongest team of the season so far, which is a positive.
“The girls have been working really hard at training on their tackling, defensive set-ups and ruck work and all we’re seeking at the moment is small levels of improvement... I suppose one thing we’ve got to do for a start is get a score on the board.”
