We met in late 2006 at high school when I (Harley) was in Year 7 and Jeremy was in Year 9, through close mutual friends. We hit it off really well.
We used to play basketball against each other during recess and lunch and then started hanging out on the weekends.
We became inseparable "best friends" until Jeremy started asking me to be his girlfriend, every day! Eventually, on March 29, 2008, I said yes!
The proposal:
Jeremy tried proposing a few times before he hit the jackpot. The first time he did it while we were on a road trip.
He opened the box and it turned out it was empty - he had picked up the wrong box!
He then had plans to put the ring inside a yabby net at his annual family yabbying day on Boxing Day 2011, but he was afraid a yabby would take the ring.
Third time lucky saw Jeremy propose on the beach in Queensland on the January 1st, 2012.
The wedding day:
We both wanted a simple and elegant wedding, as it was important for us that we both had fun, as well as our guests.
The girls started the day at 6am with hair and make-up by Hairem Scarem and Ash from Brash and Bold.
The boys shortly followed at 7am with their hair and cut-throat shaves at Shed7.
We had an early 1 o'clock ceremony at the All Seasons, and then we took photos around Bendigo. The reception followed in the Conservatory at the All Seasons.
The boys used Harley Davidson motorbikes as their transport and the girls went in VE SS Commodores.
The dress:
My dress was by Peter Trends and originally purchased from a bridal store, however, credit goes to Catherine from Fifi&Edga Bridal Bendigo.
When I first brought my dress, I contacted Catherine as I wanted to change the torso. I worked closely with her and perfected my dress by making the torso French lace.
Not long before my wedding, I found out I was pregnant.
I ended up being 20 weeks on the day, and Catherine made my dress fit perfectly by working her magic and adding gorgeous satin bows to the back.
The cake:
Our cake was made by Kelly from Cakes by Kelly. It was caramel, with white chocolate and chocolate marble, covered in pure white chocolate icing, dressed with white satin ribbon and a brooch to match my bouquet.
