MEMBER for Northern Victoria Amanda Millar sang Bendigo's praises at the opening of The Schaller Studio.
"Bendigo is the first regional location for an Arts Series Hotel, reflecting this region's well-earned and established reputation as an arts hub," she said.
"The rejuvenation of this great city over the past few years is in no small way attributed and tied integrally to the success and increasing stature of Bendigo Art Gallery.
"And so it is fitting with the magnitude of the roll which art plays in bringing people into this city that the hotel we open today has an art theme."
Ms Millar said the 128-room hotel was an integral part of the new Bendigo Hospital project.
"The Coalition government is committed to building a healthy Victoria and making our health system healthier," she said.
"We are very proud that we have more than $4.5 billion worth of major health infrastructure projects underway currently in Victoria. The jewel in the crown is the $630 million Bendigo hospital - one of the largest regional hospital projects ever built in Australia.
