The Victorian Women’s Football League premier division clash will be a curtain-raiser to the Bendigo-Gippsland inter-league match.
“The girls are all really looking forward to the opportunity to play on the QEO,” Thunder coach Russell Jeffrey said.
“One of them, Grace Campbell, was meant to have her tonsils out this week, but has postponed the surgery because of the chance to play on the QEO.
“It’s obviously a big stage for the girls being the curtain-raiser to a Bendigo inter-league game, so we’re looking forward to it.”
The Thunder haven’t scored in either of their first two games of the season against Darebin (304-point loss) and St Albans (167-point defeat).
Highlighting just how tough this weekend will be for Bendigo, Melbourne Uni last week held St Albans - the same team that flogged Bendigo in round one - scoreless in a 137-point win.
