After dropping its first match 54-75 to New York Liberty at home last Friday, the Sun bounced back on Sunday to push reigning champion Minnesota Lynx into extra time.
Griffin's side led by 16 points in the third quarter but Lynx fought back to tie the score seconds from full-time, then won 90-87 in overtime.
She amassed eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals in the match.
