This year the club is celebrating 50 years of the amalgamation of the Wycheproof and Narraport Clubs.
In the past 50 years the club has played in an astonishing 25 North Central Football League senior grand finals, winning 17 flags.
Life member Leo Keane was the youngest player on the ground when Wycheproof Narraport played its first game.
The team they played against was called Watchem-Corack, now its better known as Birchip Watchem.
Keane said before the two clubs came together there was an intense rivalry between the people of Wycheproof and Narraport.
“It was common sense to bring the two clubs together,” he said.
“We all went to school together, shopped at the same grocery stores, but we were rivals.
“Even at the pub Wycheproof people would sit one side and Narraport on the other.”
Keane said despite the rivalry the club and its players had one common interest, their love of footy.
The Wycheproof-Narraport club has produced one of Richmond’s greatest players, Merv Keane.
Merv, who will be the guest speaker at the club’s weekend of celebrations next month, won three premierships with the Tigers and is a member of their team of the century.
The Wycheproof Narraport celebrations will kick off on Friday June 6 with a formal netball dinner and official celebration registrations.
On June 7 the club will host a breakfast before the current football, netball and hockey players take on Birchip Watchem, with celebrations set to continue throughout the night.
A brunch will also be held on June 8.
Leo Keane encouraged club members and community members to get involved with the celebrations.
He said invitations had been sent out to all of the clubs past players.
