UPDATE: 2.30PM: A man due to appear before court will now appear on May 28. 

UPDATE 7.30AM:  THE Bendigo police say the Eaglehawk man taken into custody on Monday night has been charged with damage and assault and will face the Bendigo Magistrates' Court today.

MONDAY 8.30PM: AN Eaglehawk man, 38, was taken into custody on Monday night in relation to alleged incidents in Bendigo and Melbourne.   

Bendigo police Sergeant Greg Gentry said the man fled his Neanger Court property on foot when police arrived about 6.30pm.  

He said police caught the man and took him to the Bendigo Police Station.

Sergeant Gentry said capsicum spray was used. 

He said police would interview the man and he would appear in the Bendigo Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
