FEDERAL Treasurer Joe Hockey has delivered the Budget he says 'gets on with the job' but now it's time to find if there's Devil in the detail.

The coming days are sure to reveal the ups and downs of the Budget as people scour that detail and find the changes that will impact on them most.

For some such as the 60 staff at the Australian Emergency Management Institute at Mount Macedon the Budget was devastating.

For others such as those associated with the Bendigo Tennis Complex and Bendigo Family and Financial Service, their fate in regards to vital funding remained unclear late last night but the feeling wasn't good.

Understandably, politicians were quick to put their own 'take' on the Budget as soon as Mr Hockey had left the microphone.

Federal Member for Bendigo Lisa Chesters labelled the Budget a 'rip off' for young and old.

In contrast, Senator Michael Ronaldson, Patron Senator for Bendigo, declared the Budget set down the foundations for a strong and prosperous economy with less debt.

Which of those two proves the most accurate will surely become clearer as people delve deeper into the fine print of the Budget.

And the respective parties hit the road to have their opinions heard, of course.
