She was travelling north on Eaglehawk Road and attempted to turn right into Rule Street about 4.45pm Tuesday.
“She’s failed to see a motorcyclist travelling south on Eaglehawk Road and has collided with him,” Senior Constable Andrews said.
“She has received an infringement notice for failing to give way,” he said.
Senior Constable Andrews said the crash served as a reminder to drivers to watch out for motorcyclists, particularly when driving in the dark.
“The lady said she had the sun in her eyes so that might have been a contributing factor," he said.
UPDATE, 5.25pm: Ambulance Victoria spokeswoman Gabrielle Degenhardt said paramedics would take a man in his 50s to Bendigo Health after a crash involving a motorcycle at California Gully.
She said the patient suffered cuts and abrasions and was in a stable condition.
EARLIER: PARAMEDICS are treating a motorcycle rider after a crash on Eaglehawk Road at California Gully.
The motorcycle and a small Ford sedan have been involved in the crash.
Police have closed Eaglehawk Road in both directions.
The crash has happened near the corner or Rule Street.
Paramedics are placing a neck brace on the man in the middle of Eaglehawk Road.
Police, ambulance and CFA are in attendance.
