CYCLISTS from across the state will head to Harcourt this weekend when the town hosts the Victorian Country Road Championships.

About 150 riders registered with country clubs will race on Saturday on courses ranging from 6km for the under-11s, to 112km in the elite men's category (two laps of a 56km circuit).
A similar number will contest the state metro titles on Sunday.
Bendigo will be well represented, with leading entrants including Robbie Hucker, Sam Crome and Tasman Nankervis in the elite men, and Isaac Buckell in the under-17 junior men.
The carnival is being run by the Castlemaine Cycling Club, with junior action due to start from 9am.
The elite riders will be out on the road after 10.30am.
