Organisation Victorian general manager Anton Leschen said supporting children in need was a powerful way to end disadvantage.
"Because children and young people from financially disadvantaged backgrounds miss out on school essentials and have access to fewer resources and opportunities they frequently slip behind their peers," he said.
"Over time the gap between them and their classmates widens and the risk of falling through the cracks becomes a reality.
"That’s why Australian students from disadvantaged backgrounds are almost 20 per cent less likely to complete year 12 than their more advantaged peers."
Mr Leschen encouraged people to throw their support behind the organisation.
