A MEXICAN-themed trivia event will raise money for Bendigo Technical Education College students to travel to the Northern Territory.

Trip organiser Brooke Warren said 15 students would live in the remote community of Lajamanu, which is about 890 kilometres from Darwin, for 10 days.

"It’s such an awesome, life-changing opportunity for the students," she said.

"Living and working in a remote community in the Northern Territory is quite challenging and confronting."

BTEC manager Kellie Baines said students would work closely with local pupils to demonstrate their trade skills.

She said this year students would construct a concrete path in Lajamanu.

The trivia night starts at 6.30pm on Friday at MacIllivray Hall at Bendigo TAFE, McCrae Street.

Tickets cost $20 per person, with tables of 10.

There will also be a raffle, silent auction, games.

A light supper and refreshments will be served during the evening, including Nachos during the Mexican round of trivia.

To purchase tickets contact BTEC on 1300 282 246.
