CFA station officer Mark Bellew said CFA units had been called to the disused factory several times in the past few months.
"It is abandoned and disused with graffiti everywhere" he said.
"It is a bit of a playground for youths and the CFA has been called there several times."
Mr Bellew said a small area of insulation was alight when the crew responded on Sunday afternoon.
"We had the fire under control in about five minutes but spent 40 minutes pulling insulation apart.
"There were three units on the scene."
Mr Bellew said the CFA had referred the matter of suspicious activity to police for further investigations.
