Respect for Women round in the MCDFNL

THE Maryborough-Castlemaine District Football-Netball League is dedicating this week's round four matches to women to coincide with Mother's Day.

The MCDFNL will hold its annual Respect for Women round.

The aim of the round is to highlight and recognise the important role women play in football.

"There are a vast number of females involved in every aspect of football, whether it's playing the game, umpiring, coaching or working in a variety of capacities for a club, league or state body," MCDFNL marketing and events manager Shaun Kelly said on Wednesday.

"Everyone is working towards a common goal and that is to grow and improve female involvement in the game."
