Detective Sergeant Steve Rainey said anybody that may have seen activity in or around the house on Sunday should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
UPDATE 8AM MONDAY: The Bendigo Crime Investigation Unit and the arson squad will attend a house in Meggs Court today following a suspicious fire.

UPDATE 8.50PM: THE CFA says the house fire in Meggs Court in California Gully has been brought under control.
EARLIER: A CALIFORNIA Gully house is burning out of control, a fire the CFA has deemed suspicious.
The fire was reported at 8.15pm and it is being attended by five units.
A CFA spokesman said the fire was "well alight" when CFA members arrived.
He said the house was owned by the Ministry of Housing and had been vacant for one month.
He said the fire was being treated as suspicious.
The house is in Meggs Court.
