UPDATE: Groovin' the Moo is in full swing with thousands of punters at the Prince of Wales Showground. 

EARLIER: Crowds are starting to gather for the Groovin' the Moo Festival. 

Three sniffer dogs are being used at Bendigo Train Station to detect drugs on festival goers. 

Acting Senior Sergeant Rob Howarth said about 25 police had come from Melbourne, and punters had so far been well-behaved.

Police have questioned people at the station but would not say if any drugs had been found. 

Performers have so far included Bendigo bands Outlines and My Echo. 

The Presets, Dizzee Rascal, Disclosure and Architecture in Helsinki are among those who will perform.
