While Bendigo Health chief executive John Mulder welcomed the data and Health Minister David Davis said here had been significant improvements in hospital performance, Ms Edwards and Ms Allan said Victoria's health crisis was getting worse. 

Ms Allan said the data showed: the median time to treatment for all elective surgery patients at the Bendigo Hospital rose by two days to 26 days, compared to 24 the previous year; ambulance transfers within 40 minutes dropped to 86 per cent; and the percentage of Emergency Department Category 3 patients treated within 30 minutes fell to 62 per cent.

“Bendigo Health is struggling under the $826 million in cuts by the Napthine Government and the $277 million to be cut from Victorian hospitals by the Abbott Government," Ms Allan said. 

Earlier this week Mr Davis said the data showed significant improvements in Victorian hospitals, including Bendigo, across a range of key indicators.

He said the key performance measures showed: Bendigo Health admitted 10,061 patients in the three months to the end of December – up from 9479 admissions in the same period a year earlier; the service admitted 3448 emergency patients in the three months to the end of December. Mr Mulder from Bendigo Health said the service was pleased with its performance.
