BENDIGO residents living with a disability will get extra support to stay in their own homes, thanks to a $537,524 boost from the federal and state governments.

Patron Senator for Bendigo Michael Ronaldson said the extra Home and Community Care funding would be distributed between 15 services in Bendigo, Eaglehawk, Castlemaine, Kyneton, Heathcote and Maldon.
“This extra funding will help expand existing services or create new ones in identified priority areas of need across the state, including in Bendigo, to support Victorians who need help to continue to live at home,” Mr Ronaldson said.
“And it will enable people to keep active and involved in their local communities.”
Assistant Social Services Minister Mitch Fifield said the funding was part of a $668 million joint federal and state investment in the Home and Community Care program across the state this financial year. The program provides critical services that help older people stay independent for longer.
