Between 2014 and 2018, Australia Post will release a new stamp set annually to honour each year of the First World War.
“During the next five years we hope to join all Australians in honouring the contribution made by Anzacs and hope that these stamps serve as a symbol of our appreciation to those who made the ultimate sacrifice,” Australia Post philatelic manager Michael Zsolt said.
Australia Post has a long and strong connection to the Anzac story. The organisation helped deliver letters between the soldiers and home, providing the missing link between the two.
The Australian War Memorial was involved with developing the stamps to highlight key events, battles and individuals relevant to each year of the centenary.
The stamps are available now from participating Australia Post retail outlets.
