As part of the club’s push to get more women involved with the sport, the club is hosting a nine-hole ambrose novelty event next month.
The event is open to all ladies who haven’t played golf before as well as for those who want to get back into golf after not playing in a while.
New players will play on a modified course on the day, with an experienced golfer on hand to help.
Organiser Loretta Prowse said the morning of golf would be about exercise, having fun and enjoying the social side to the sport.
She said participants didn’t have to be a member of the Axedale Golf Club to play, with all women welcome to attend.
The golf day will be held at the Axedale Golf Club, on Mitchell Street in Axedale, on May 4 between 9.30am and noon.
It costs $5 to take part, all equipment will be provided to women who do not have golf clubs.
