The under-12 boys and girls teams took on the best country basketball teams within Victoria at the tournament, including teams from Geelong, Ballarat, Shepparton, southern Peninsula, Mildura and Wodonga.
Both teams were undefeated at the tournament, winning their pool matches as well as the championship.
The under-12 girls team was coached by Lucy Spalding and current Lady Braves player Kerryn Harrington.
The girls dominated the event, with its closest winning margin coming in their grand final match against Ballarat.
In the end Bendigo was too strong, overcoming its Ballarat rivals to win 39-28.
Like the girls the under-12 boys were undefeated throughout the tournament.
In the quarter and semi-final matches the boys team s won against Shepparton and Portland before facing Warragul in the decider.
The Braves were three points down in the second half before fighting back and winning 41-39.
The under-14 girls were also crowned champions at the Division 1 Basketball Victoria Country Championships last month.
Bendigo Stadium manager of sport Craig Green said the results were a good indication of the basketball program’s improvement.
He said the Bendigo Basketball Association was moving in the right direction with more 3000 players registered in the city.
"We have a very good base to work with to continue to develop our sport," Green said.
