Ashlee and Brian volunteered their time to help make the Bendigo Chinese Association's entertainment at the Bendigo Easter Festival a success.

"I've been making all the food for the performing teams and volunteers," Ashlee said on Saturday.

"It's been very busy.

"We started making sandwiches at 9.30am and didn't stop."

Ashlee said it was all hands on deck.

"I can't remember a time in my life when I haven't been helping with the festival," she said.

"As soon as you can do jobs you get handed jobs.

"There's not many places in the world that have the history that we have here."

Ashlee's uncle Brian is the precinct coordinator.

"It involves setting up all the performing area and all the food stalls," he said.

"I've been precinct coordinator for three years.

"I'm proud of my Chinese heritage so it's good to help out.

"Usually too busy to watch the entertainment but I try and be out there when the string of crackers goes off."
