SENIOR footy marked a long-awaited return to Harry Trott Oval in Kennington when South Bendigo took on Eaglehawk on Easter Saturday.
The Hawks dominated the first half and led 64-4 at the long break.
South's intensity and workrate lifted dramatically in the second half, but it was the Hawks who soared to a 53-point victory.
Eaglehawk full-forward Matt Gilmore kicked six goals.
The Borough's best included defender Tyler Miles, Brodie Collins, ruckman Tim Nicolson, Ben McPhee, Jesse Collins and captain Luke Button.
