The reminder comes after police conducted a road safety blitz near Tylden, which used automatic number plate technology to detect drivers who were breaking the road laws.
We will be breath testing all people intercepted, whether it's at a road block or a one-on-one intercept.
- Wayne Gatt
Victoria Police and the Sheriff's Office co-ordinated the operation.
Trentham police Sergeant Wayne Gatt said police scanned 1037 vehicles on Thursday.
"Of (those vehicles) police conducted 664 breath tests," he said.
"Sheriff's officers and police detected 185 outstanding warrants.
"This was to the value of $63,246.
"It netted five unregistered vehicles, two unlicenced drivers and two unroadworthy vehicles, as well as other safety offence."
Sergeant Gatt said police were not surprised by the results.
"In terms of its value, it was a pretty good operation," he said.
"We know there is, at times, a large degree of offending but we would say the operation of the day was successful.
"People should be aware that the operation will continue during the Easter period and after."
Sergeant Gatt said drivers should think twice before breaking the law as they were bound to be caught.
"If you drink and drive there is a good chance you will get caught," he said.
"Police activity around the Easter period is very high.
"We will be breath testing all people intercepted, whether it's at a road block or a one-on-one intercept."
