The shows on April 26 and 27 will start at 3pm.
OZACT director Bruce Widdop said people heading to the productions should get into the spirit of the occasion.
''Bring a rug, cushion, and someone you love, or a whole group of people you love, and enjoy the exceptional magic of Shakespeare in the great outdoors,'' he said.
''Hamlet promises an event to remember.''
An OZACT spokesman said cast and crew from Australia's leading outdoor Shakespeare company were looking forward to performing in the glorious surrounds of Castlemaine botanical gardens.
''Hamlet is the immortal tale of an aspiring young prince, seeking love and justice, driven to madness by the stifling world around him,'' the spokesman said.
''It is Shakespeare’s political, philosophical and psychological thriller, mesmeric, chilling, and viscerally engaging, and 400 years on the play still has the power to haunt us.
''OZACT performed Twelfth Night in Castlemaine and is back by popular demand. The idyllic setting of the Castlemaine botanic gardens provides the perfect location for this latest production of Hamlet.
''An impressive cast has been gathered for this production, with experienced actors and talented performers drawn from Ballarat, Melbourne and regional Victoria.''
Tickets prices for the Hamlet production are adults $33, concession $28 and children $20 with those under six years admitted free.
