Organisers were thrilled with the turnout for the free event. 

The City of Greater Bendigo’s FReeZA youth events team Mic Up Productions hosted the concert.

Team member Maddy Walter, 17, said it was the most popular gig she had seen in the past three years.

"We had way more people than we expected, it's a great atmosphere," she said.

"It’s something to congratulate the youth of Bendigo on."

Miss Walter also congratulated local bands Nevango and King's Republic for drawing their own crowd.

City of Greater Bendigo youth participation officer Rory White said the numbers had blown organisers away.

"It’s really good to see Bendigo people support it," he said.

"The state government's FReeZA initiative is fantastic for getting live music out to people in rural areas.

"It provides funds for young people to develop and put on shows. The concept is 'for young people, by young people'."

Till Schaech, 16, was at the concert with friends.

"It’s really good to have bands come to Bendigo where we can just sit in the park and listen in a relaxed environment," she said.
