Mount Pleasant aims for hat-trick

MOUNT Pleasant will be aiming to continue its unbeaten start to the season when it tackles Colbinabbin in the Good Friday match at Toolleen.

The Blues withstood a spirited challenge from White Hillls to win by two goals on the Demons turf last round.

Limiting the impact of gun full-forward Matt Gretgrix will be a major challenge for Colbinabbin in this contest.

Gretgrix kicked six goals against White Hills.

The play of big-name recruits Gretgrix and Kain Robins from Eaglehawk is crucial to the premiership chances of the Derrick Filo-coached Mount Pleasant.

Despite an 0-2 record, Colbinabbin took it right up to Leitchville-Gunbower and in the season opener against Lockington-Bamawm United.

Key players for Colbo include Linton Jacobs, Leroy Miller and Lochlan Sirett.

The other Good Friday match is at Leitchville-Gunbower where the Bombers take on Heathcote.

Leitchville-Gunbower has won both matches it has played.

Barthlomew Walsh and Jake Williams led the Bombers attack on three goals apiece against Colbo.

A talented Leitchville-Gunbower team includes Joel Helman,  Shaun Douglass, Jye Keath and coach Martin Shadbolt.

After the first-round draw with Elmore, Heathcote was outpointed by LBU last round.

The task does not become any easier for the Grant Ford-coached Saints in round three.

Heathcote will look to Jake Condon, Reece Carmichael, Marc Millard and Luke Bell to win a lot of contests.

On Easter Saturday, North Bendigo takes on White Hills.

The Bulldogs kicked off their season with a five-goal win at Huntly as the Demons rued wayward kicking against Mounts.

Lockington-Bamawm United is at home against Elmore.
