In the Good Friday showdown, Kyneton is hosting Gisborne in round three of the Bendigo Netball League.
Both teams have begun the season well, winning both of their clashes.
Kyneton had a convincing first round win and then won in a nail-biter against Sandhurst on Sunday.
Gisborne won by 38 goals against Castlemaine in round one and then fought off a resurgent Maryborough in round two.
Erdman said Kyneton’s winning start may have surprised a few in the Bendigo league but it hasn’t surprised him.
It is the first time in about five years Kyneton has fielded a team in the A-grade competition.
“More people are surprised externally than they are internally,” Erdman said.
“We had a solid pre-season, we did a lot of running and we were ready for the season to begin.
"I know it is a cliche, but we are just taking it one game at a time."
Erdman said Kyneton’s one goal win against Sandhurst would hold the girls in good stead for the rest of the season.
“It was a great game,” he said. "It was a tight game.
“The belief the girls would have got from the game would have been enormous," the Tigers coach said of the win against Sandhurst.
“It is going to be great for the team going forward.”
Erdman said Good Friday’s game would be a big test.
“Obviously Gisborne is a good team, they are the reigning premiers,” he said.
“It is a big day, hopefully there is a big crowd watching on.
“I know it is a game the girls have been looking forward to.”
Gisborne coach Kerry Jorgenson agreed, saying it was a game her team had ear-marked at the beginning of the season.
Gisborne will be bolstered this week with the inclusion of three of its top players.
Madeline Stewart, Polly Salter and Shelby Strong are expected to take to the court after missing round two.
In other Good Friday matches, Kangaroo Flat and Golden Square will play each other under lights at Beck Legal Oval.
Both teams are also undefeated.
Castlemaine will also host Maryborough.
