A free twilight screening of the family movie The Croods will follow at the centre from 8.30pm.
On Saturday from 2pm the Bendigo Chinese Precinct will come alive with the sounds of firecrackers, drums and cymbals as Bendigo’s famous Imperial dragon Sun Loong is woken from his long sleep so he can take part in Sunday’s Gala Parade.
Saturday's pre-torchlight parade entertainment will include Duetfire who will present an incredible display of fire and pyrotechnics near the Alexandra Fountain, while the Zaphorozhets will present live music in the Bendigo Art Gallery forecourt in View Street.
After Saturday's Bendigo and District RSL Torchlight Procession, a fireworks display will grace Rosalind Park.
Sunday's Bendigo Advertiser Gala Parade begins at 1pm.
