Councillor Chapman objects on the grounds that "murderers, paedophiles, criminals" have bank accounts, but her logic is faulty.
The bank is not taking any actions against the individuals within the group (many of whom are likely to have accounts) but against the group itself, because the group has taken a stand which goes against the bank's community-focused philosophy.
If some paedophiles formed a group to promote their activities and opened a bank account, I would hope that the bank would take a similar action, and I suspect Ms Chapman would not be far behind me.
