Halloran said if the first two rounds of the season were anything to go by the A-grade side was heading in the right direction.
In the first game of the season Lockington drew with reigning premiers Colbinabbin and in round two had a massive 44 goal victory against Heathcote.
“It is always exciting coming up against Colbinabbin,” Halloran said.
“You get to see exactly where you are at in the competition and I think we will be well and truly up there this season.
“Then we played Heathcote and they are a young side so we had to concentrate on playing four quarters of netball.”
Halloran said passing errors had cost the game against Colbinabbin.
“I believe we gave that game to them,” she said.
“When we played Heathcote our aim was to not be complacent.
“After every quarter we start again the score goes back to zero.”
Halloran said after last year’s finals disappointment she hoped Lockington’s fortune would change.
“It was gut-wrenching last year,” she said.
“We didn’t play our best netball in the finals last year.
“This year we want to be in the right position to be top dog.
“It is a long way off, but we just need to get back basics.”
Lockington take on Elmore on Saturday afternoon.
New Elmore coach Demi Morrison played with Nathalia last season but decided on playing with the Bloods in 2014.
She said six new players have been included into the A-grade side over the pre-season.
“Round one was the first time the whole team played together,” Morrison said.
“Then we had the bye which was difficult because we had just played one game and our emotions were high.”
Morrison admitted it would be a tough ask to beat Lockington.
"They are a good team but we just need to stick to our game plan," she said.
