Loom bands allow young people to create items to proudly wear or share.
They have been used by young people as a means to fundraise for important causes in our community which teaches them worth, value and community spirit.

Any issues surrounding young people swapping the bands should be looked on as part of the education process - an opportunity to teach them right and wrong.
Fads such as loom bands come and go. Next month the flavour of the moment will most likely change but the passion young people will have for new trends will not diminish.
One such fad that has stood the test of time is footy cards - an annual pursuit for many sports-minded young people each winter.
True, trading footy cards taught me a few tough lessons all those years ago but it also delivered the virtues of fairness, honesty and achievement.
For the majority loom bands appear to deliver far more benefits than negatives.
